21 Day VICTORY Fast | Day 8

Good morning, dear friends! Today is day eight as we have entered a very special time of consecration and humility and we open the door to a deeper, more intimate and more powerful relationship with our Father!
Bren and I are blessed that you have chosen to participate in the VICTORY FAST by setting aside 21 days to pray, fast and draw near to God. Fasting is not just an exercise for super-spiritual people. It is actually supposed to a part of every believer’s personal and private spiritual life. Personally, we have found there is no better way to reset our spiritual compass and bring about change and discipline in every area of our lives than through fasting.
We pray that you will experience the presence and power of God in an extraordinary way as you commit yourself to Him over the next 21 days. May God continue to bless you and ignite your passion for Him as you seek Him first!
For these 21 days together, I will provide a daily
biblical focus and some thoughts to encourage and
strengthen you throughout the fast.
FASTING: Alignment with Heaven
Day 8
Matthew 6:10 “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”
We have all heard the phrase, “just like heaven on earth.” When Jesus taught his disciples how to pray (Matthew 6:9-13), he provided this insight of the Father’s desire and design, “heaven on earth” — and His life and ministry modeled it perfectly. In reality, heaven is a place where God’s will reigns supreme. If we want to have a lifestyle of heaven on earth, then our prayer should be like Jesus’: “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done…”
The purest motivation for our prayers is that God will be glorified and that His will would reign supreme in our lives, just like it does in heaven. On a more personal level, we can pray that His will be unhindered in our own lives. Rather than imposing His will upon us, God gives us the choice to surrender to it with our trust — trust that He is a good Father. As we yield to His Lordship over every area of our lives, we come into agreement (union, alignment, synchronized, rhythm) with Him. We experience alignment with heaven and position ourselves to taste more and more heaven here on earth. His will then becomes what we desire and the thing we most seek after.
We enter into the incredible adventure of participating in God’s plan to move His kingdom forward on the earth. This is where we find the most fulfilling life, but it all starts with one personal “yes, Lord” on our part and a continual lifestyle of “yes” that expands His kingdom in and through us.
Be encouraged today. You are aligning with heaven in this fast — the heart of The Father. The faithful will flourish this New Year and it will be like “heaven on earth”!
Psalms 92:12-15 in the Passion Translation says,
“Yes! Look how you’ve made all your lovers to flourish like palm trees, each one growing in victory, standing with strength! You’ve transplanted them into your heavenly courtyard, where they are thriving before you. For in your presence they will still overflow and be anointed. Even in their old age they will stay fresh, bearing luscious fruit and abiding faithfully. Listen to them! With pleasure they still proclaim: “You’re so good! You’re my beautiful strength! You’ve never made a mistake with me.”
May His ever-increasing kingdom come to you and
through you in 2021!
